SECRET CODES AT THE NORWOOD SCHOOL

Starting the year off right with the drafting of top secret codes at the Norwood School!

Below: mixing words like "dinsor" (re: dinosaur) for the letter M and symbols like a gerbil for the letter J are sure to throw off unwanted readers, though X = box might be a little more intuitive for some video game afficionados!

THIS JUST IN: WE ARE TOTALLY AWESOME!

At the top of my inbox this morning was an email from T.A. artist and Art Brains teacher Emily, congratulating Make/Believe for winning the "Art Classes" section of Red Tricycle's 2013 Totally Awesome Awards. Needless to say, we are STOKED, honored, and super grateful to everyone who voted for our little (but awesome) art program! Thanks so much for voting, and thanks to Red Tricycle for promoting us and the other excellent nominees and finalists. You can see a list of the latter here on the Art Classes for Kids winner page.

Yayeeee!!

THEMES FOR FALL 2013

I'm working on our Fall 2013 Art Brains curriculum over here, and getting psyched for themes like crystal farmers, dream theaters, hieroglyphic code creation, GHOST PIZZA, and more!

If you are reading this and thinking you want your child to be a crystal farmer/cryptographer this upcoming Fall, there's still time to request a new program at your school and get free tuition in the process.

MAKE/BELIEVE ON A PARENT IN SILVER SPRING

Thanks so much to wonder woman Jessica McFadden for sharing my little list of summer activities for kids on her blog A Parent In Silver Spring.  Jessica writes about resources for families and activities for kids in the Washington, DC area on A Parent in Silver Spring, A Parent In America, and elsewhere - check out all of her great work via the links above, and see the Make/Believe post here!
