MEMORY BOXES

Here are some of the "memory boxes" made this week in two Art After School classes. The students were asked to depict a memory they liked in mini diorama fashion. As simple as these are, it can be tough to conceptualize and execute a diorama-type piece in the course of an hour or less, and I thought the kids did a good job with the time they had. I liked hearing about the memories they chose, and the idea of having these little vignettes tucked away in closeable boxes. One of the funniest memories shared: a student walking into a pizza shop to find Santa sitting by himself, eating a chicken sandwich!
